Vicky Kaushal on the delay of The Immortal Ashwatthama: “You have to choose a moment that justifies doing it”

Vicky Kaushal-starrer The Immortal Ashwatthama has been delayed for a few months, but the actor is not disheartened as he believes there will always be a better time to make the film.

Billed as a superhero action film, the project is directed by Aditya Dhar from Uri: The Surgical Strike.

The directors announced in October 2020 that the film would hit the courts in April this year. But in August, media reported that the film had been suspended due to budget constraints.

Later, producer Ronnie Screwvala said in a statement that shooting on the film was suspended for another six to nine months.

“There will be a better time to make this movie. More than disheartening is this thing that any movie should be done at the best time for that movie.

“Each time, the film is bigger than me or anybody attached to the film. So we have to pick a moment that warrants making this movie. So we are waiting for that moment to come, ”Kaushal, 33, told PTI.

Immortal Ashwatthama is planned as a trilogy that will take place in modern times.

This is the second collaboration between Dhar, Screwvala and Kaushal after Uri (2019).

The actor is now preparing for the digital release of Sardar Oudham, a biopic based on the life of revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the massacre of Jallianwala Bagh in 1919.

The film is slated for release on October 16 on Amazon Prime Video.
