As a promotion to Founder of Peace ramps up ahead of the Jan. 13 premiere on HBO Max, shows a billboard on Times Square fan-tweets about the DC show. While James Gunn is The suicide group perhaps not the box office extravaganza Warner Bros./DC Films expected, the film was more than well received by those who saw it. This is largely thanks to its ensemble of odd DCEU characters, including Harley Quinn, Polka-Dot Man, King Shark, and of course John Cenas “skirtCaptain America, Christopher Smith / Peacemaker.
The suicide group spinoff series, Founder of Peace, is written and heavily directed by Gunn, who recognized the unexplored potential of the titular character from the leap. In the flagship movie, it is stated that Peacemaker cherishes peace with all his heart and does not care how many men, women and children he has to kill to get it. This causes him to kill Rick Flag and try to kill Ratcatcher 2 before Bloodsport knocks him down. IN The suicide group‘s credits scene, it’s revealed that Peacemaker survived the events at Corto Maltese and is needed to help “save the world of the king“I Founder of Peace, Cena is joined by his The suicide group co-stars Steve Agee (as Prison Officer John Economos) and Jennifer Holland (as Amanda Wallers’ assistant Emilia Harcourt) along with newcomers Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Robert Patrick as Peacemaker’s father, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, and Nhut Le as judo master.
The official Twitter account for Founder of Peace on HBO Max recently shared a video of a billboard for the Times Square show showing fan tweets at one of the world’s most coveted advertising venues. The message advises readers to respond to the series’ latest trailer so they can also end up being shown. Gunn also took to social media to back up the board, and the original postings can be seen below:
my New Year’s resolution is to bring peace to the people, beginning with this giant billboard in Times Square with tweets about me. share how much you love my new trailer and you can be presented pic.twitter.com/XnLW4yDnQK

Founder of Peace is set to become WB / DC’s largest series, which may mark the beginning of DCEU’s MCU-like success on streaming. From the latest redband trailer showing the villains of the show to Gunn’s regular teasing on social media, it is already talked about by many people online. That said, the idea of promoting the chat itself in an attempt to create more discussion is without a doubt a touch of marketing genius – fans will tweet about Founder of Peace just to see their handles in Times Square. Marketing aside, Founder of Peace looks to be another awaiting hit for Gunn.
Plot details for the show remains mostly hidden, but the series will touch on the character’s origins and deconstruct his twisted sense of patriotism. Similar to Marvel Studios’ latest friend-police pairing HawkeyeClint Barton and Kate Bishop, Founder of Peace will see his protagonist team up with Adrian Chase / Vigilante, who, despite working in customer service, is even more violently devoted to his ideals. While the series appears to be much more grounded than The suicide group, Gunn has teased future DC projects that probably comes from Founder of Peace. The author / director is currently working on his latest film in Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and the success of Founder of Peace could determine his future in the DCEU.
