The leopard that attacked 7 inhabitants of the Aarey colony captured

The female subadult leopard that had attacked at least seven people in the Aarey colony was trapped early Friday morning.

Round Narayan Mane forestry officer said officials had install four cages to Aarey to trap the leopard.

At around 5:30 a.m., during an inspection, the leopard was found trapped in one of the cages.

The leopard carried out attacks after dusk, believing that people were prey. The latest attacks affected a 55-year-old woman on Wednesday and a 19-year-old man Thursday evening.

Mane said the leopard was taken to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park Rescue Center for treatment.
