Russian troops shoot dead ten people while queuing for bread in Chernihiv

Russian troops have shot and killed ten people as they stood in line to buy bread in the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, US officials have said.

The US embassy in Kiev described the attack as “terrible”.

“Today, Russian forces shot and killed 10 people standing in line for bread in Chernihiv,” the embassy said in a tweet.

‘Such horrific attacks must stop. We are considering all available options to ensure responsibility for any atrocity in Ukraine. “

Thousands of civilians have been killed in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with residential buildings, hospitals and schools among those affected by the Kremlin airstrikes.

That is what British officials said yesterday Russian troops had failed to make progress in cities like Chernihiv, with a briefing revealing that “almost all” of Moscow’s attacks have not made progress.
