A body found from the Thames is that of missing 20-year-old Harvey Parker, Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

The force was alerted to reports of a body in the Thames near Embankment in central London by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution at 11.51am on Tuesday.

Officers from the Mets Marine Support Unit found the body.

Detective Lucy O’Connor, of the Central South Command Unit, said: “We provide Harvey’s family with all available information.

“We also ask the media to respect the privacy of the family in this challenging and difficult time.”

CCTV footage showed Mr Parker walking onto Craven Street and then south towards Embankment, and he has not been seen since.

A friend said University of York music students had been to a Little Simz concert in Brixton, south London before going to the nightclub.

On Wednesday, Metropolitan Police said investigators had seen CCTV near the Golden Jubilee Bridge and believe Mr Parker, who is a member of the house’s staff at the Theater Royal Stratford East, may have gotten into the water there.

The force said there was no indication that others were involved.
