Patton Oswalt pitches Perfect Iron Fist MCU Spinoff Show Idea

Consistent with his infamous Boba Fett prediction, Patton Oswalt looks set to hit gold again with a pitch for a spinoff of Marvel’s Iron Fist.

Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt pitches a spinoff for Marvel’s Iron fist. Oswalt is an outspoken fan of comics and nerd culture who has been fortunate to see his career give him opportunities in this field. Last year, he was co-creative and contributing Marvels MODOK and even appeared in the mid-credits scene of Eternal as the Troll Pip. Oswalt has also performed in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Blade: Trinity2017s Spider Man animated series, and Big Hero 6: The Series. Oswalt got attention earlier this year, then The book about Boba Fett featured a scene describing how Boba Fett survived Sarlacc Pit, which was eerily similar to a prediction he made on NBC’s Parks and recreation years earlier. In a section from 2013 of Parks and recreation called “Article 2”, Oswalt’s Garth Blundin led an infamous filibuster where he described how Boba Fett would retire from Sarlacc Pit. Back then, it was simply a humorous tease from Oswalt who could never have known it was going to be canon in the new series. Now, it looks like Oswalt is trying to unleash his compelling talents once again.

While promoting his new film I love my father at SXSW, Collider asked Oswalt if he had any new predictions that could compete with his prediction of Boba Fett’s fate. He put his view on Marvel and said they had “a fantastic franchise” waiting to be realized in their Netflix shows, where they sign on to two prominent characters who are through several of the shows, i.a. Iron fist, Luke Cageand The defenders. According to Oswalt, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing were to star “A low-stakes, gritty superhero noir at street level.” See Oswalt’s comments below:

“I think Marvel is going to realize that they had a great franchise in their lap for free in their Netflix shows with Misty Knight and Colleen Wing, the two actors. Someone in five years, hopefully before, will realize, ” do it! ‘A low-stakes, rough superhero noir at street level with the two characters, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing. They’re sitting right there! So I guess someone at Marvel will realize what they have and they will run with it. “

Misty Knight, played by Simone Missick, is an NYPD officer who made his debut on Luke Cage before you perform Iron fist and The defenders. Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing, a martial arts instructor and expert, also made her first appearance on Luke Cage before he becomes a more prominent character in Iron fist and The defenders. Misty and Colleen became audience favorites and traveled a perfect setup for The dragon’s daughtersa Marvel comic that sees the two characters fight side by side.

When the entire series of Marvel Netflix shows was canceled, it gave many loyal fans a slap and left characters like Misty and Colleen dead in the water. However, it seems that the performances can get a new life. Charlie Cox, who first played Daredevil for the Netflix series, recently starred in Spider-Man: No Way Homewhere Vincent D’Onofrio also repeats his role as Kingpin for Disney +’s Hawkeye. In addition, the canceled Netflix Marvel shows, which also include Jessica Jones and The punisheris set to debut on their new streaming home at Disney + in a few days. With the programs back in the audience’s minds, and Charlie Cox apparently set on more within MCU, Oswalt’s prediction may carry some weight, although Colleen and Misty’s return is not officially planned at this time. So far, audiences can hope for the best while waiting to see if Oswalt’s forecasting capabilities prove to be accurate again for the world of Iron fist and Marvel’s Netflix shows.
