After tons of rumors and several press releases, OnePlus has finally launched the OnePlus 10 Pro. That is, if you happen to live in China.
After three announcements for its design, specifications and camera features, OnePlus has finally launched OnePlus 10 Pro – that is, in at least one country. First half of the new year is always an exciting time in the technical space. This is where Samsung announces its latest Galaxy S, OnePlus launches its latest flagship handset, and Apple usually unveils a new Mac or iPad.
Last year, the OnePlus flagship series saw form as the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The two phones were launched side by side with a lot of identical specifications – including the same processor, battery capacity, wired charging speeds and more. Among the two devices, the more expensive OnePlus 9 Pro stood out as the better overall handset. Thanks to a top-tier display, strong camera performance and a fairly reasonable price, it was a worthy challenger to the best handsets from Samsung and Apple.
About a week ago, OnePlus first announced the OnePlus 10 Pro as its latest flagship – along with a first look at its design. In recent days, OnePlus has continued to leak information about the phone. Its specifications were confirmed on January 4th, and so were its new camera features on January 6th. Now, January 10, OnePlus is officially launched OnePlus 10 Pro to its customers in China. Sales of the phone are set to begin on January 13 with two color variants – including Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest.
OnePlus 10 Pro is on its way to the US – at some point
Interestingly, OnePlus does not comment on the availability of OnePlus 10 Pro in other countries. All it says right now is that 10 Pro “will be launched globally later in 2022. ” One can safely assume that it includes the United States, but there is currently no mention of when in 2022 it will be released or how much it will cost. It can be within a matter of weeks, a month from now, or early April – the same month, the OnePlus 9 series arrived in the United States. last year.
Why is OnePlus releasing OnePlus 10 Pro like this? Who knows. It may be related to the ongoing chip shortage and only having enough components for a launch in one market right now. It can also just be a part of OnePlus’ long-standing marketing of the phone. OnePlus leaked 10 Pro information via four press releases over the past week. If it can have one launch now and another later in the year, it could be a way to build more hype for the device.
Whatever the answer is, there is reason to be excited when the global launch date finally comes. Based on what OnePlus has shown us at this point, OnePlus 10 Pro looks like a beautiful killer device. It has a refreshing design, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and OnePlus is on offer big camera enhancements compared to 9 Pro. If all that lives up to the marketing edge, it is OnePlus 10 Pro may well be worth this confusing advertising cycle.
