NCERT Launches One-Year Diploma In Guidance And Counseling

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced a one-year degree course for the training of guidance and counseling professionals. Applicants can apply online at The deadline for submitting the online application form is November 5, 2021.

The course will be a mix of distance and face-to-face modes. The course aims to improve the skills and competences of teachers in order to promote the holistic development of students and to manage their academic, socio-emotional and ethical problems.

Teachers, educators, school administrators and untrained guidance staff from India can apply for the course. The course will take place in three phases, namely remote (six months; January-June 2022), face-to-face contact program in the respective study centers (three months; July-September 2022) and internship in the city of origin / place of work (three months; October-December 2022).

Applicants should attach to the application form self-attested copies of grades / grade sheets / diplomas / certificates in support of qualifications and work experience.

“The increasing complexities and stress of modern life, the daily reports of lack of interest in studies, poor performance, truancy, aggression, behavioral problems, suicide, drug addiction, etc. . in schools. Teachers and other school staff need to equip themselves with supportive skills to promote the personal, social, educational, professional and coping development of students throughout the school years. Admission to eligible applicants will be offered at DEPFE, NCERT, New Delhi, and regional educational institutes in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru and Shillong. A total of 50 places will be available in each center.

Government-delegated professionals from government-funded organizations will have to pay Rs 19,500 as course fees, while the fee for government-delegated state departments / UT applicants is Rs 6,000. private individuals wishing to take the course will have to pay Rs 30,000.
