Moon Knights Oscar Isaac says he would like his MCU character to team up with Daredevil, Punisher, Ghost Rider and maybe one day Midnight Sons.
While I mention the Midnight Sons, Knights of the Moon star Oscar Isaac says he wants his character to team up with Daredevil, Punisher and Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney +’s upcoming series stars Isaac as its titular vigilante, Moon Knight / Marc Spector. Jeremy Slater acts as the showrunner in the six-episode series, which is directed by the team of Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab, consisting of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. In addition to Isaac, the cast is confirmed to include May Calamawy and Ethan Hawke as its mysterious antagonist.
In the comics, Marc Spector inherits his powers after making a life-saving pact with the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. The series’ trailers have focused on the character’s dissociative identity disorder, and introduced Steven Grant – a gentle behavior in the gift shop employee who is plagued by blackouts and has almost no idea that he shares body with Marc Spector and / or Moon Knight. Executive producer on the series, Grant Curtis, has said Knights of the Moon do not need the larger MCU to tell its origin story. However, this does not mean that its protagonist will not team up with other heroes in the future.
During a recent interview with Strip Marvel (via Cartoon), Isaac was asked what other MCU characters he would like to see Moon Knight team up with. The actor mentioned Daredevil, Punisher and Ghost Rider as being on his wish list. He also said he would enjoy seeing his character involved in the Midnight Sons.
In the comics, Midnight Sons is a team of supernatural superheroes. Originally formed by Ghost Riders, Danny Ketch and Johnny Blaze, the group would continue to include characters such as Doctor Strange, Hellstrom, Morbius, Werewolf by Night and more Ghost Riders. Given that most of these characters are not yet in the MCU, if the Midnight Sons were to be formed anytime soon, they would probably look a little different. That said, no announcements have indicated that this team will happen. However, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil made his official MCU debut last year in Spider-Man: No Way Homewhich bodes well for Jon Bernthal’s TV-MA Punisher to be implemented as well.
Every season of vovehalsJessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Punisher, and The defenders is now available for stream on Disney +, which changed its parental settings to follow TV-MA superheroes. As phase 4 of the MCU gets darker, Knights of the Moon apparently leading the charge for more horror-centered projects. Not long after the series, Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness comes out in the cinemas. The film’s focus on the multiverse could facilitate the implementation of any number of already established characters. On top of that is one Blade the film is on the horizon. It remains to be seen Knights of the Moon will hint at any future crossovers when it comes out at Disney + on March 30th.
