Runaways has not yet been brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe cannon, so this casting choice is unlikely to be related. Bhimani played a relatively small role in Hulu Original, so that could be easy too Ms. Marvel to introduce Runaways into the MCU without making too much of a splash. Either way, Bhimani was already well versed in “nerd culture” before joining Ms. Marvel and is probably a quality addition to that Ms. Marvel series when it comes out later this year.
