John Cena says he would love to return to Fast & Furious 10

While promoting Peacemaker, John Cena says he “would love nothing more” than returning to the Fast & Furious series for its tenth episode.

John Cena is open to the idea of returning after another Fast & the Furious film that repeats its role as Jakob Toretto, brother of Vin Diesels Dom Toretto in the blockbuster series. Cena made his Fast debut in the 2021s F9 as the latest film for Dom and his team. The surprise reveals that Dom has a brother and that his brother is involved in high-tech international crime, changed much of what viewers knew about Fast franchise and the history of its characters. Now it looks like the WWE star wants to keep that story going.

Although Jakob Toretto had never been mentioned in previous films, the character was drawn in again F9 as the alienated brother of Dom and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster). The film saw him work with Charlize Theron, who returned as the criminal mastermind Cipher, in a plot to take control of the world’s weapons systems. While spending most of the film as a villain as he is eventually betrayed by his cohorts, Jakob ends up helping Dom and his team. Despite their skirmishes through the film’s first two acts, like Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, Jakob becomes a bit of an ally with Fast crew at the film’s finale and leaves the door open so he can return in future installments. It seems that the actor is eager to do so.

There he was asked by host Michael Strahan if he would be interested in returning to the next part of the film Fast franchise. Cena, dressed in his Peacemaker costume, said he would be thrilled to return to another film and basically just waiting to be asked. Check out his comments below:

I can tell you this: you probably will not see me in Fast 10 dressed as [Peacemaker], but I really hope you see me in Fast 10. I know they are preparing for production and I would love nothing more than to return to the franchise. I’m a big fan myself.

Cena may be eager to return to Fast franchise, but the same cannot be said of all the previous stars of the series. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has had a notoriously troubled relationship with Vin Diesel since the former’s franchise debut in 2011’s. Fast 5. He refuses to return for Fast 10. Despite Diesel is doing a public experiment to bury the hatchet between the two power plants, it seems like the core Fast the series may have seen the last of Johnson as Luke Hobbs, though he has never publicly rejected the idea of a sequel to Hobbs and Shaw spin off.

It does not appear that any public petitions will be needed to get Cena back in the role. That Fast movies continue to become more epic in scope and scale with each episode and show no sign of slowing down. As such, it makes sense to keep adding to Fast and furious team list for future adventures. Cena is just waiting for the call.
