With its release on consoles, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus includes achievements and trophies that seem to suggest a new Monika route. This comes in the form of writing a perfect poem, something that is only reserved for the other girls. Although this may not result in a mark new end of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, it has its own hidden mechanics.

Lack of love interest in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus

Yuri and Natsuki will not allow players to select Monika in the Doki Doki Literature Club Plus

First replay cheat

During the initial run of the game, Monika is apparently presented as a love interest for the player. But as soon as the poem mini-game loads, it’s clear that Monika has no corresponding favorite word. This will be further highlighted in the daily conversations as Monika will point out how the player’s current poem is clearly intended for Sayori, Natsuki or Yuri. So far, the players simply have to make poems for the other girls. It will all end tragically until the completion of the first law.

Act 2 Teasing

The second replay will be noticeably more corrupt and intimidating. Sayori is completely missing, but her words are still available for choice. Both Natsuki and Yuri’s sticker avatar can pop up on Sayori’s words, but none of the scores have changed. Occasionally, Monika’s sticker will pop up from the bottom of the book of poems. But this is simply a trick and Monika still has no score for the words entered.

Still, players might aim to make the first two Act 2 poems to Natskui in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. If you do, Monika will try to give a very personal poem to the player on the last day. However, this will fail and cause a false crash in DDLC.

Always perfect for Monika in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus

When Monika is tired of the list, she will simply delete Natsuki and Yuri, from the beginning Act 3. After introducing themselves, players will have two options: the first is to leave DDLC and delete Monika’s character quickly. This rewards one ketch by Monika, but will prevent the perfect poetry creation.

The second choice is to listen to Monika’s spiel completely. How this unfolds depends on whether the player is going through DDLC alone or has an audience. For the former, Monika will read the PC system name or screen name on them on PlayStation, Xbox or Switch consoles. If the player streams or records with third-party PC applications like OBS, XSplit, LiveHime, PandaTool, Douyu or Huomao, Monika will know. She can also feel if console players are sharing via the integrated streaming options for Twitch and YouTube. In these cases, Monika will threaten with a jump-scare trick, calmly give in and then quickly jump scare anyway.

Once Monika has gone through that opening, she will force players to date her with only a single option of “yes”. She will then open poem mini-games in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, but it turns out to be a busted farce. Each word is either just “Monika”, an alternate spelling or a corruption like “M1 / 2nik”, “Monaba”, “on ka” etc. Regardless of choice, each word is worth three points and will result in a perfect score of 60. The perfect poem for Monika’s achievement / trophy should be unlocked at this point. If it does not, players may need to share the finished poem with Monika and read her own in return; it becomes the title Happy ending.
