Spore Blossoms are beautiful flowers in Minecraft that make beautiful natural decorations for ceiling blocks. To get one, players must find a lush cave.
Introduced under part 2 of Minecrafts expansive “Caves and Cliffs” update, Spore Blossom is a large pink flower that hangs from the ceiling of Lush Caves. The unique flower emits small green particles from its golden center that either drift slowly toward the ground or flow gracefully around within a radius of 22 blocks. Unfortunately, as exquisite as they are, Spore Blossom within the stream Minecraft update has no innate benefit other than being enchanting ceiling decor.
Like any typical flower in Minecraft, Spore flowers can be harvested by striking with a tool or even bare hands. Unfortunately, spore flowers are not renewable, which means they cannot be grown elsewhere and only spawn once in their lush cave biomes. Players who want to have a large collection of the flowers will have to venture into several cave systems to search for them. In addition, Spore Blossoms can only be placed on the underside of a solid Minecraft block, including slabs or the underside of a stair block. Since leaves are not considered fixed, spore flowers can not be placed under them. But replacing a leaf block with a moss block that looks similar will allow a flower to stick underneath.
To encounter Spore Blossoms, players must first find a lush cave biome in Minecraft. Lush caves spawn only below the surface of the Upper World, but are able to generate at different heights. In other words, players need to be vigilant when digging directly in search of a cave system. There are two ways to find a lush cave in Minecraft. The first and most effective way is to look for Azalea trees.
Where to find spore flowers in Minecraft
Azalea trees are a rare type of tree in Minecraft which typically generate directly over a lush cave, making them a useful indication of where a cave can be found. Azaleas can be recognized on their yellow-green leaves with small pink flowers. Hunting azalea trees in a dense forest can be a challenge. One choice method to easily spot one would thus be to climb up to a high point and the use Minecraft Spyglass or Optifine zoom to scan the area. After finding a tree, dig through the rooted blocks below it to find a lush cave and the spore flowers inside.
An alternative but less reliable way to find a lush cave is by looking down into caves from a ravine or searching existing underground mines for glowing blocks in the distance. This glow may be low or lava, but there is a good chance that it will be the embers that thrive in lush caves.
