Gurgaon: the dental coordinator of a private hospital commits suicide, her husband among 2 booked for complicity

A 30-year-old woman, who worked as a dental coordinator at a private hospital in the city, reportedly committed suicide at her home on Thursday evening. Police convicted her husband and stepmother of incitement to suicide after the woman’s family alleged that they mentally harassed her.

Police said the incident was reported around 6:30 p.m. after the woman’s family, Meenakshi, had not been able to reach her by phone since Thursday morning and asked a colleague to visit her. Police said when the colleague arrived at her home, he noticed that the door was not locked from the inside and the door was ajar.

He informed the owner and they entered the house to find her hanged and called the police. Officers from Sadar Police Station rushed to the scene and informed his family in Delhi.

A police official, requesting anonymity, said: “No suicide note was found. Her family alleged that she got married two years ago and that for the past six months her husband had not lived with her. Her parents alleged that she was under duress because her husband and stepmother harassed her. “

Police said that according to the preliminary autopsy report, the cause of death was hanging. The family’s statement was recorded at around 1 a.m. on Friday, after which a case was filed. An FIR was registered under section 306 (incitement to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code at Sadar police station, police said.
