Gurgaon: a rickshaw driver is killed; women in 2 prisoners
A 25-year-old rickshaw driver was found murdered in the village of Ghata on Monday evening. Police arrested two people, including a woman, who was allegedly her lover once, for allegedly plotting to murder him for not agreeing to marry him.
The deceased has been identified as Asif from the Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Police said Asif was found dead in an auto-rickshaw with several injuries to his face and body. A resident informed the police that some people were beating the rickshaw driver, but by the time they arrived, the accused had escaped.
Police launched a search and within hours arrested two people – Soniya (24) and Yakub (26), both from Budaun.
Preet Pal Sangwan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said: “The investigation revealed that Soniya and victim Asif were in a relationship in 2018. Soniya had instigated him to marry her, but he said his parents had arranged her marriage with someone. else and she developed an enmity with him. She conspired with one of her friends, Yakub, and hatched a plan to kill Asif.
Police said the accused beat the victim with a rod and stones, which have now been recovered.
A police official said: “During questioning, Soniya told police that Asif threatened to share her photos online and blackmail her. She hatched a plan to assassinate him because of it.
An FIR under Articles 302 (murder) and 34 (common intent) of the IPC was registered at the Sector 56 police station on Monday evening.
