Delhi government misleads people over power supply: Adesh Gupta

Accusing the government led by Arvind Kejriwal of “cheating” people, Delhi BJP chairman Adesh Gupta said on Monday that there would be no power shortage in the capital.

Union Energy Minister Raj Kumar Singh and Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi have assured that the Center will not allow any fuel shortages for the power plants supplying Delhi, he said.

“It is not understood why, despite central insurance, the Delhi government continues to mislead people,” he said.

The statement was in response to CM Kejriwal saying that Delhi could soon face an electricity shortage with the coal crisis across the country affecting the supply of power plants.

The CM wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting his intervention to make adequate arrangements for coal in power stations.
