Chennai Police Commissioner hospitalized with “acute” chest pain
Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal was hospitalized Thursday after complaining of chest pain, police sources said.
He was currently stable and under observation, said Apollo Hospitals, where he was under treatment.
According to law enforcement sources, Jiwal complained of chest pain while stationed at Vepery here and was rushed to the private Greams Road hospital here.
The hospital said in a press note that the senior IPS officer was admitted there with “acute chest pain”.
“He was immediately taken care of and treated under the care of Dr. G Sengottuvelu, interventional cardiologist. He is currently stable and under observation, ”said Dr Venkatachalam, director of medical services at Apollo Hospitals.
