Brick thrown by second-floor monkey hits man, killing him
A brick thrown by a monkey from the second floor of a building hit a 30-year-old man in the head, killing him, in the Nabi Karim neighborhood of central Delhi, police said on Tuesday.
Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under articles causing death by negligence.
The man, Mohammad Kurbaan, suffered a serious injury and collapsed, after which he was rushed to RML Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
During the investigation, the police discovered that the brick had been thrown from a house belonging to a certain Omprakash Mishra. He told police he kept two bricks above the water tank so the monkeys could not open it.
Police said on Monday evening a group of monkeys removed the two bricks – one was thrown from the building and the other was thrown nearby on the terrace.
Police said Kurbaan sold bags at an area store and is survived by his wife and five-year-old child.
He was going to buy materials to make bags when the incident took place.
